Eczema & the Un-buyable Product

Okay, for those who have Eczema like one of my family members you must know it's a pain to control. Now, there are many medicated treatments out there like Elica-M cream but prolonged and excessive use is not advisable as there are a certain amount of Steroid in the cream. So the solution is? I've tried and tested this on a family member and now they ask me to give them this facial atleast once a week and it's so soothing and really works to control the redness, dryness, and overall discomfort.

 Here it is:

1 small tub of yogurt (I'm from KSA so I use Almarai lol just to happens to be in the fridge)

1 TB of honey

4 TBs of oatmeal (I used the container pictured)

Mix it together until it forms a thick paste, adding a little more oatmeal if too watery. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes and rinse off. The results are almost immediate, love it! There is however an alternative for dryness with oatmeal at Lush bodyshop but we do not have this store yet in the Gulf with the exception of UAE. Thank you followers, let me know if you love this too.

Top seller product: Macademia oil found in KSA

I've recently bought this mini packet from a shop in one of the malls here because this is a top selling product online and I thought it'd be worth a try. Its a mixture of oils and is basically a mask. I thought the results was okay nothing to brag about. A week later I mixed my own concoction of coconut oil, almond oil,and olive oil and heate that up in the microwave and left it on for awhile then washed it off. I must say my hair was much more softer with my home version sadly. Oh well there are plenty more products to try.

Hair Miracle?

I was so excited when I saw the whole package of this hair treatment.

I bought and took this picture as soon as I got in lol since it promised to reverse damage in a month (of dry hair).

I used the whole treatment from shampoo to conditioner to the one wash treatment and sprayed my hair with the extra "gift".

My hair was very soft during lathering...after my hair dried once out of the shower it became severely dry!! Just so so so dry I don't know what I did wrong.

So I tried it again on another day...with the whole range (from shampoo to spray) and again incredibly dry. I needed to take roughly a month of finding all kinds of leave-ins and going back to my L'oreal Royal Jelly Conditioner and many  oil treatments for it to be somewhat less dry.

I contacted Pantene and inquired them about the reason for this dryness because it really was the bad but I never received any response from them.

I even later found some reviews stating it made their hair dry too...while some others said it was fine so I guess it depends on your hair type as for me I have dry curly thick hair.

Anyone else tried this dear readers?

Skin Update !

Just to re-cap on my previous posts about skin...:)

Okay the Pantothenic acid pills I was taking in my last post on skin had some improvements to the clarity of my skin but the results were NOT dramatic so I decided it wasn't worth the extra....
80 riyals lol.

Now, what I must say is that I'm not a fan of your average over-the counter cleanser ( no Clearasil/Clean and Clean has ever worked for me)..BUT in my desperation I tried out another Neutrogena cleanser as it was the top cleanser in the product awards lately..and it's worth every 40 riyal LOL. It's not harsh on my skin like Neutrogena usually is (which I liked) and I definitely found improvements in my skin.

So here it is ladies your cleanser for oily/acne prone skin :

Saudi Beauty Tester is Baaaack!

Fellow beauty addicts!

No I haven't left the Kingdom (cries inside lol) was just simply preoccupied but I promise to continue updating you with my latest beauty buys that I found were great.
Okay...let me not ramble luckily I found these products in Saudi (yes I'm sure you know MAC is everywhere).

Here they are:

E/S (eyeshadow)

  1. Patina (very versatile can be used on it's own or in combination with others).

All that glitters

Mistletoe NailpolishJustify Full

Now I know there many favourites in the world of MAC but these were the sold out items in the branch I went to in the arabian side of the world :)

As a side note, what do you ladies think about the new policy of Saudi women make-up sales ladies? I personally am relived at the thought. No more flirtations from sleazy make-up sales men and them analysing my skin :S :S

Ta-ta for now ladies!

I will get rid of damaged ends once and for all! :D

Hello fans, product-lovers...

I have dry ends....I've used countless products (many of which I bought while travelling in attempt to reclaim my once-healthy hair). Do they:

  1. Add shine
  2. Put all those capsule spilling vitamins into my hair (like the Saudi tv ads)
  3. Leave it super soft

No. Mostly once any of those points are achieved the effects of which only lasts for a few days.
Now I don't want hair that "looks healthy" "feels soft"...I want it to actually BE healthy.

Thank you for your understanding lol.

Just when I was about to lose hope I've discovered Royal jelly + Omega 6 L'oreal Shampoo and Conditioner. I'm not just saying so, I've really really found a difference in the condition of my hair.
Royal Jelly is known to be a source of Vitamin B5 which boosts the condition of the hair.

Omega 6 also aids in dryness and promotes growth. Brilliant!

I'm all for looking for the natural ingredients. Recently I've read (yes, I am that obsessed) about L'oreal laboratories patenting a new formula that acts like the natural lipids found in hair. Lipids are like a cement for the hair it helps bond the cuticles keeping it healthy and split-free. As the hair grows the ends tend to lose this natural lipid. Ceramide-R is the component used to mimic this lipid and is placed in Shampoos/Conditioners to help replace these lost lipids. Results: Split-end free/protected hair.

Of course I bought it. So happy that I did too! I even use the stuff as a serum during the day to calm down my curls. I really do see that the hair seems to "sealed".

Try it out for yourself ladies.

But do tell me what you think of my two new favourite products Saudi has to offer.
